When a company lists the total compensation for a job they often list paid vacation as a dollar amount.

Say your a salary worker and getting $800/wk, and the paid vacation is listed around $6000/yr.

How can you earn $6000/yr for vacation if your salary and get the same pay each week regardless?

Am I missing something? Do you actually get paid more while on vacation?

No, you get a salary and if it is $12,000 a year and you get two weeks vacation you get $500 worth of vacation

If you make 800/week and get 6000 in vacation pay, you must get 7.5 weeks of vacation…sounds like a good deal!
