I just booked my Disney vacation for May '09 and was looking at prices for a rental car just to get from the airport to Wal-Mart to the campground and then returned. I can take the Magical Express, but I want to buy food to stock the cabin, so I will need wheels to get to the grocery store. Dollar car Rental had an economy size car (Kia Rio) for $35 for about 5 hours. I did not book it, because many car rental places will bump you to the next size car for no extra cost when you are there. They would rather rent out something, than nothing at all. As it gets closer though I may book something.

Are you going to Disney World, or did you just pick Orlando as a section to post your question? The reason I ask is because if you are going to WDW and staying on Disney property you will not need your own mode of transportation... you can use the free Disney transportation. That is what we will do other than the one trip to the grocery store.

Best thing to do is book now and check every 30 days for rate fluctuation. Really based upon availability.
Small cars go faster.
Here is a car rental code that will help.
